Beach State Park will be hosting their always-entertaining Park Palooza on
Saturday, April 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be an array of
fun and engaging outdoor activities for the whole family, with a variety of
nature programs and recreational activities to enjoy throughout the
event.
2. Easter Egg Hunt / Children’s Festival (Saturday, April 15, 2017, from
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Don’t let the Easter Bunny pass your kids by! Be sure to bring your little
ones out to the Easter Egg Hunt & Children’s Festival taking place at
Passive Park on Saturday, April 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The egg
hunt is open to children ages 10 and under, and don’t worry-- every child
will receive a prize of some kind. Just be sure to bring a good-sized
Easter basket so that your little ones can haul in the eggs! The Children’s
Festival will take place in Fuller Park after the egg hunt has concluded,
and it will feature inflatables, train rides, balloon art, and face painting.
This fun, candy-laden event is sure to be a great memory-making day for
you and your family.
3. Pet Fair (Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon)
For all lovers of four-legged furry friends, the Town of Surfside Beach
at the intersection of 1st Avenue N. and Willow Drive N.) on Saturday,
April 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There will be grooming and
boarding vendors galore, as well as representatives from local animal
rescue groups. In addition, Ark Animal Hospital will be conducting a
Rabies Clinic to ensure that your pooch stays nice and healthy. Of course,
it goes without saying that there will be plenty of opportunities for your
furry friend to interact with other dogs, so be sure to come out and enjoy
this fun and informative event.
4. Totally Turtles! (Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)
Another excellent event to take the kiddos to at Myrtle Beach State
Park is their & “Totally Turtles!” program, which is held on the first
Saturday in May from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Your kids will have a blast as
they learn all about South Carolina’s official state reptile, the loggerhead
sea turtle. There will be several engaging activities taking place within
this event, including a scavenger hunt, making a sea turtle nest, and
create-a- turtle crafts. Be sure not to miss this fun and very educational
event!
5. Memorial Day Events (Sunday, May 28, 2017)
As you well know, Memorial Day is a huge weekend at the Grand Strand,
and at Surfside Beach, in particular, there are a handful of fun events
that make this ubiquitous holiday even that much more enjoyable. Try
attending the Memorial Day Golf Cart Parade on Sunday the 28th from
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Ocean Boulevard, or the Memorial Day Cookout
taking place later that day from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Surfside Drive.
