Derek Owsinski relocated to the South Carolina coast in 2004 from his native home of Cleveland, Ohio, and in 2013 married his beautiful wife Ann. They are raising their four children in the town of Pawleys Island. He enjoys traveling, woodworking, music festivals, and outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. He excels as a loving, interactive, and dedicated father. Derek is licensed by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission and a member of the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors allowing him full access to the local MLS. He has successfully completed transactions representing both buyers and sellers, with client references available.
Derek served in the United States Coast Guard before beginning a career in the building trade. Even prior to accepting a position offered by Habitat for Humanity of Horry County as Site Supervisor/Construction Manager, he has been responsible for on site decision making regarding the construction of dozens of homes. His working knowledge of Horry and Georgetown county building codes, and familiarity to common practices by maintaining professional and personal relationships with many of the areas' builders and contractors is now used for assessing a property's functionality, quality, and appeal, making him a valuable resource to all clients; both buyers and sellers. Derek exemplifies integrity, honesty, and dedication in every detail of his work.
Derek has always made it his priority to balance his time between family, work, and community. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11028 and parishioner of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. He volunteers with organizations including Georgetown County Special Olympics, Boy Scouts of America, Father Pat's Kitchen, and other local food pantries.
